How Yahoo Killed Flickr and Lost the Internet

I recently wrote a story with the catchy title: “Why I might switch away from Flickr“. I meant the title to be catchy back then.

Mat Honan has this great post on Gizmodo on the rise and fall of Flickr and how Yahoo Killed Flickr and Lost the Internet.

Wow. A sad story.

Through an entirely different channel I read Mat’s article, really sad for the Flickr team, but hopefully it will get better. One of the groups I am in asked the “should we go to FB” discussion, and the overwhelming response was no (particularly from me who refuses to go on FB but surprisingly from lots of the other regular posters)

    Interesting times……
